Poas Volcano

Description

Poas Volcano is one of the three volcanoes on the American continent that is accessible by road. The spectacular crater of Poás slips elusively from view as clouds, drift across this stark, powerful landscape. Here you will gaze out over the 2-mile crater, one of the largest in the world, its lake and steaming fumaroles backed by a cone of slag. The road to the park is one of the most beautiful scenic sites in the country, coffee, strawberry and flower plantations will be seen along the way.
