Hacienda el MorteroIn colonial times and for centuries afterwards, the haciendas were the main production centers around which the country’s economy life was organized. In them, the landholder’s families led a life full of comfort and with all the luxuries available in those times. Creole cuisine (a blend of the Spanish heritage and of regional culture) became famous and created delicious specialties that are today an essential part of the Mexican gastronomic tradition.
